Membership Guidelines


Membership Guidelines of Indian Society of Hypoxia & Mountain Medicine

MEMBERSHIP


Individual Member

A person who has attained the age of majority (i.e. 18 years) and has interest in the development of the society, agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the society without any discrimination of gender, religion, caste or creed, can be admitted as Member of the society subject to approval.

Individual members will be admitted in classes of Life Member, Annual Member, Student Member and Services Member.

SUBSCRIPTION

The subscription fee and member tenures will be as follows. However the governing body can revise it if required in future.

CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP

The termination of a member from the membership of the society can be for following reasons. The decision regarding the termination from the membership of the Society shall be communicated to the member/institution concerned.

  • On Death (for individual members) or dissolution (for institutions).
  • On resignation.
  • Association with any criminal/anti-social activities.
  • Disregarding the objects, rules and regulation of the society.
  • Guilty of misconduct or obtaining personal benefits in the name of the society.
  • Failure to pay the subscription fees.

Re-admission

A member whose membership was terminated, can be readmitted subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions as above and that the reason for termination has ceased to exist.

Appeals

Appeals against the membership decisions can be made to the Governing Body where the matter will be considered in the Governing Body meeting. The decision of the Governing Body shall be final.

REFUSAL

The Governing body can refuse the membership to an individual or an institution by recording the reasons for refusal.
